How Vanderbilt Insurance stopped re-entering the same insured data in every carrier portal
Vanderbilt Insurance is an independent insurance agency that quotes its clients across multiple carriers. That means a lot of time spent in carrier portals, entering the same insured information into each one.
We sat down with Taylor Doria, Personal Lines Manager at Vanderbilt, to talk about how Vanderbilt uses Sembley Sidecar to autofill carrier portals with information the team already has, and how it has changed the agency's day-to-day quoting work.
Before Sidecar, quoting an insured with several carriers meant going portal by portal and typing the same information into each one.
“We would have to go from each portal to enter it,” Taylor explained. “So we’re doing the manual data entry multiple times.”

Every additional carrier added another round of copying and pasting, and another chance for a typo to end up on an application.
Sembley Sidecar is a Chrome extension that copies insured data from any website or document and autofills the carrier portal you’re working in.
Taylor calls her new workflow “grab and go.” She copies the insured’s information with Sidecar once, then fills it into each portal instead of entering it again by hand.
“Being able to do what I’m calling grab and go, grabbing it and sending it, it definitely is cutting down my time.”

Sidecar can pull insured data from more than applications and dec pages.
Recently, a client called Taylor to update a vehicle. She wrote down the VIN as the client read it to her, then decided to test something. She opened the call transcript, had Sidecar copy the relevant part, and filled it in.
Sidecar transferred everything. Taylor didn’t have to type anything, and when she compared the result to the VIN she had written down, it matched exactly.
“I didn’t have to type or anything, and everything matched up. It wasn’t off even by a little bit.”
Taylor also uses Sidecar on property listings. Rather than reading through a Zillow page and pulling out each detail herself, she uses Sidecar to copy the listing and autofill it wherever she needs it.
“I just literally will click that, and then I’ll autofill to wherever I need it to go, and it fills all the important information.”

For Taylor, the biggest change is how little manual work is left. Copying and pasting one field at a time has been replaced by two clicks.
“I don’t have to sit there hitting Control V, Control C, Control V. I just hit the copy button, hit the fill button, and I’m done.”
That has made a difference across the agency.
“Everything that Sembley and the Sidecar have offered, we’ve been extremely pleased with on both sides. It’s completely changed everything for us.”

It's the easiest software we've ever onboarded because it solves a problem everyone had noticed but that no one had a great solution for — until Sembley.
Sembley is a great solution and I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from people in my community that have leveraged it and are using it everyday.
Sembley's one of my favorite tools because it solves like six problems in agencies and it's fully integrateable. It's the one to have.
We didn't have a process on how to get the information in a consistent form or fashion… and then we came across Sembley… I was really blown away.
